Grade School Textbook Look & Feel Designs
In late 2019 I was contacted by Curriculum Associates to be part of a team of art directors and designers working on the design and layout of a new ELA textbook. I was first asked to create look and feel designs for interior pages (lesson chapter opener and project assignment pages) with a template and assets to work from. For about two months we had daily check-ins via Zoom and collaborated via Slack and Mural. In addition to student book layouts, we translated our layouts into the square format of the teacher’s guide which required more intricate hierarchy of information. A year later, they asked me to rejoin the team to contribute designs for the cover of the textbook. In both project timelines, my designs made it to the last round of critiques.
